Why visit Nice?

The resort town of Menton is a short 40 minute drive from the city, and offers beautiful beaches and stunning views. There’s even a two-hour coastal cliff walk from Menton to Monaco, which passes through Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Villa E-1027, a modernist villa designed by Eileen Gray and – in many people’s eyes – vandalised by renowned architect Le Corbusier, who painted murals onto its plain white walls. Architecture buffs often visit to pay their respects to “Corb”, who drowned off the coast and is buried in the cemetery above the town – which is worth visiting for the sea views alone. Foodies won’t want to miss Mirazur, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant that consistently makes it into the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
