Why visit Rhodos?

Rhodes is the largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands and is known for its ancient ruins and beach resorts. The best beaches on Rhodes include Ladiko, a small cove close to the popular (and crowded) Faliraki beach resort; Kallithea, which is famous for its series of wild rocky coves; and the long, sandy Afandou beach, which is especially popular with windsurfers. For a less crowded beach, make the trip to Pefki, a calm beach resort 53km from Rhodes Town that offers plenty of facilities, including tavernas, shops, sun loungers and diving.
