Damaged baggage


Have you been unlucky and received damaged bags after your flight? Don’t worry – we’re always here to help!

Still at the airport?

  • Immediate Reporting at the airport: Present any damaged baggage to our airport representatives upon arrival.
  • Create a damage Baggage Report (PIR): Submit a Damage Baggage Report (PIR) immediately. 
  • Keep your reference Number: You will receive a PIR reference number, which we may ask for submitting a claim on our webpage.
  • A claim for your Damaged Baggage must be done via our web page no later than 7 days of the receipt of your baggage.

Recommended information to have available when submitting your claim: Have the booking number, PIR reference number, and supporting documents (pictures of the damage, brand, age, price, and purchase receipt of the baggage) ready. 

Already left the airport? 

  • Report your damage baggage via Mybag: If you notice damage after leaving the airport, create a Damage Baggage Report (PIR) via Mybag within 4 days from the date of travel. 
  •  A claim for your Damaged Baggage must be done via our web page no later than 7 days of the receipt of your baggage. 
Recommended information to have available when submitting your claim: Have the booking number, PIR reference number, and supporting documents (pictures of the damage, brand, age, price, and purchase receipt of the baggage) ready.

Contact Norwegian: If more than 4 days have passed, contact Norwegian directly or the airport to make a Damage Report within 7 days of receiving your baggage.

Submitting your claim

  • Deadline: Submit your claim on our webpage no later than 7 days from the receipt of your baggage. 
  • Be prepared: Have the booking reference number and supporting document ready, such as pictures of the damaged baggage, brand, age, price and purchase receipt for the damaged baggage. If you have PIR reference number, we kindly ask you to attach it as well.  
  • Claim Submission: Submit your claim via our webpage.

Important Notes 

  • Minor Damage: Normal transport conditions may cause scratches, marks, dents, and other minor damage. Norwegian is not responsible for this general wear and tear.
  • Content Damage: If the contents of your baggage are damaged without damage to the bag itself, contact your travel insurer.
