Why visit Kaunas?
Book a flight to Kaunas and enjoy one of the Baltics’ hippest and prettiest cities. Set to be a joint European Capital of Culture in 20122, Lithuania’s second city, located at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, has long been a creative hub. Today, this pleasingly walkable city is famous for its colourful street art and Art Deco buildings, a charming, buzzy Old Town packed with bars and restaurants, and numerous historical landmarks. Be sure to visit the Ninth Fort on the city’s outskirts too, a poignant memorial to a dark period in Kaunas’ history. For a different kind of museum, they don’t come much more different than the so-called Devils’ Museum, home to over 3,000 representations of Beelzebub. Fly to Kaunas and experience one of the Baltics’ hidden gems.
