Secure payment

Online purchases are safe and secure with Norwegian

Your safety and security are important to us. We use powerful and well proven encryption methods to ensure that booking with us is safe and problem free. Both the personal information and credit card information you enter cannot be accessed by anyone else when you make your booking.

Norwegian uses SSL and 3D Secure to protect your information.

SSL

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, and is an industry standard for safe communication over the internet. This security protocol encrypts (encodes) data between the customer and the site/bank.

3D Secure – even safer payment over the internet

We have made it even safer to buy tickets at norwegian.com with 3D Secure as a default security. You also have the option to make your purchase without 3D Secure. Please note that use of 3D Secure may be required by your card issuer, in which case you will have to go through the extra security check whether or not you choose to use 3D Secure.

What is 3D Secure?

3D Secure is a joint security standard for making payments over the internet with VISA (Verified by Visa) or MasterCard (SecureCode). 3D Secure is the preferred security solution that VISA and MasterCard use to identify cardholders when making online purchases.

How do you pay with 3D Secure?

You pay with your card in the same way as usual. If your card issuer uses 3D Secure as an extra security check on payments, you will see a new page, where you will be asked to enter a code from your online bank security authenticator or a password (BankID). This communication is between you and the bank, and Norwegian is not able to see the password or code that you enter.

You can read more about 3D Secure here.

Once you have entered the code and confirmed the purchase, you will see a confirmation page. After a short while you will also receive an email containing the confirmation, reference number and travel documents.
