San Carlos de Bariloche at a glance
Officially designated Argentina’s adventure tourism capital, and gateway to its beautiful Lake District, Bariloche is the place for adrenaline-fuelled escapades in South America’s answer to the Alps.
Take to the Andean slopes at Cerro Catedral for perfect powder between July and September, to the hills and forests for zip lining and trekking, and to the turquoise and emerald waters of the lakes for kayaking, sailing and fly-fishing.
Throw in a plethora of craft breweries and parrillas slow-roasting lamb in fire pits, and you’ll realise why Bariloche is Patagonia’s liveliest city.
