45% less CO2 by 2030? That’s a Norwegian promise

We are setting the pace for environmental sustainability and aim to become the traveller’s sustainable choice by reducing and recycling plastic waste, promoting sustainable aviation fuel and continuing to fly one of the world’s youngest fleets. In doing so, we aim to achieve a 45 percent reduction in our customers CO2 emissions by 2030, in line with the 1.5°C target set forth in the Paris Agreement.

45% less CO2

By 2030, you’ll be flying with a staggering 45% cutback in carbon emissions compared to 2010.

Fuel efficiency

We have been named the most fuel-efficient airline on transatlantic routes twice.

We’re quitting non-recyclable plastic

By 2023, we’ll have made a 100% cut in non-recyclable plastics, and recycling 100% of our single-use plastics in Scandinavia.

Advanced weather data

Our pilots use a new weather system to make smarter route choices that reduces thousands of tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Sustainable Aviation Fuels

We’re committed to using up to 28% sustainable aviation fuels by the end of the decade.

Modern aircraft fleet

We invest in new technology and have one of the youngest fleets in the world.

More direct routes

Direct routes results in fewer takeoffs and landings and a significant reduction in emissions.

Data driven fuel saving

Our SkyBreathe mobile application teach pilots to fly more fuel efficient, cutting total CO2 emissions up to 2%
