Eat at LA’s best food trucks

Joshua Lurie is the founder of food and drink blog FoodGPS.com

“LA food trucks aren’t just for construction workers and office parks – they’re a cultural phenomenon with a fanatical following. With hundreds of food trucks in LA, trust in staying power. I tend to stick with Mexican seafood classics like Mariscos Jalisco (facebook.com/mariscosjalisco), which has been going since 2002; and El Mar Azul, known for its tostadas. The Grilled Cheese Truck (thegrilledcheesetruck.com) is a modern icon for its gooey comfort food; and LudoTruck (ludotruck.com) is famous for chef Ludovic Lefebvre’s famed fried chicken. To locate food trucks, I suggest using an app like TruxMap (foodtrucksmap.com/la), which aggregates food truck locations on a scrollable map. Since trucks tend to wander and can’t always park where they planned, it’s a good idea to also refer to the Twitter feed of your chosen truck for location updates.”
