Torre Agbar

Known locally as the “geyser”, the “shell” and the “suppository”, as well as by many more obvious nicknames, the 142m-high Torre Agbar has become a modern symbol of the city. Sadly, as the headquarters of Barcelona’s water company, you can’t climb up it, but it’s still fascinating to see the two skins of this behemoth (the first made of concrete, the second made up of 59,619 glass panels) up close. Watch out for the funky light displays by night.

Placa de les Glories.
