Taxi Take Away

Hidden in plain sight, but masked by layers of graffiti and bill posters and with no real frontage there’s a reason that this fiercely unique bar remains one of Oslo’s best-kept secrets. Matching radical left-wing political thought and punk-rock co-operative aesthetics with cutting-edge hip-hop music Taxi Take Away’s patrons are, as you’d imagine, equally as disparate as the bar’s set-up. Offering all of about 50 square metres of room in which to drink, dance, read Marxist flyers or even play table football, slap bang in the city centre it gets cramped very quickly, so getting there early is essential.
