Pet Cemetery

If you like your culture a little more offbeat, then the wonderfully quirky Pet Cemetery on the outskirts of Paris would be a great addition to your itinerary. First opened in 1899, the graveyard served as a resting place for the beloved pets of those who could afford to have them interred in style. There are towering monuments to dearly departed dogs and cats here, in turn heart-warming, intriguing and just plain weird. It’s only a short journey on the Métro from central Paris and a wonderfully eccentric excursion to make your stay truly unique.
