The total price includes a ticket tax set by the Argentinian government for international long haul flights departing from Argentina.
Passengers who must pay the ticket tax
When travelling from Argentina, this tax is mandatory if you are:
- an Argentinian citizen or a foreign citizen registered as resident in Argentina
- a non-Argentinian citizen/resident who has made the booking on an Argentinian website (e.g. norwegian.com/ar/)
Passengers exempt from the ticket tax can apply for a refund
If you don’t meet any of the criteria above, you are exempt from the ticket tax.
Passengers who meet the following criteria are also exempt:
- UN officials stationed in Argentina
- Diplomats stationed in Argentina and their immediate family and domestic personnel
- Government officials and their immediate family in accordance with the regulation in effect
- Personnel sent by governments/entities in accordance with current regulations
- Scholarships paid for by government/official organisations
How to apply for a tax refund
