The Eiffel Tower

Undoubtedly the city’s most iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel to commemorate the centenary of the 1789 Revolution, its 1,050ft structure towers over the city. If you’re feeling energetic take the stairs up to the second level. If not, vintage lifts will carry you right to the top, stopping en route to let you explore the tower’s souvenir shops, exhibitions and cafés. The views from the Jules Verne restaurant on the second level are simply unforgettable.
