This observatory, where Danes have been looking out at the night skies since 1642, is Europe's oldest. Legendary 17th-century astronomer Tycho Brahe, for whom Christian V built the tower, may be long gone, but it's still frequented by amateur stargazers. The great attraction is a spiral outdoor platform that requires a 200-metre hike to reach the top, and the library hall, which houses temporary art, history and science exhibitions.
