Norwegian has been granted Air Operator’s Certificates (AOC) by the Civil Aviation Authority in Norway. An AOC is an operational and technical approval issued by a country’s Civil Aviation Authority which grants the holder the right to conduct commercial flights. Norwegian holds one AOC for its short-haul operation and one AOC for its long-haul operation.
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA is determined to focus its operations on its core competencies. The company has a strategy of extensive outsourcing, most notably handling services on all airports the airline serves and heavy maintenance. Line maintenance is performed in-house for efficiency purposes.
