Proof of identity

Your ticket and flight reservations with Norwegian are personal to the holder and non-transferable from one passenger to another. Norwegian requires that passengers produce valid proof of identity upon request. The following are accepted as valid proof of identity for norwegian citizens travelling within Norway: a valid passport, valid bank/credit card with a photograph of the bearer, valid driving licence, military ID card, identification card for the Kingdom of Norway, Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority ID card/airport pass with a photograph of the bearer. We recommend that passengers show voluntarily birth certificates for infants less than 2 years of age at check-in for domestic flights.

On our international flights we accept passport as proof of identity.

A valid passport is the only official proof of identity for Norwegian citizens on international flights. Children must hold their own passports.

When travelling to certain destinations (such as Croatia), children not travelling with both their parents may need to produce a letter stating that their child is permitted to travel with other adults. If you are in any doubt, please contact the local embassy for further information.

Passengers are themselves responsible for obtaining all requisite travel documents, including visas, and for obeying all laws, regulations and other provisions of public authorities related to travel in the countries the passengers are flying from, to, or in transit through. The Carrier shall not be liable for any consequences to passengers of their failure to obtain such requisite documents or failure to obey such laws, regulations, requirements or orders.
