If checked-in baggage is damaged during transport on a Norwegian flight you must report this immediately to our handling agent at the airport or at the latest, within seven days after arrival.
Norwegian handles its passengers’ baggage with care. All the same, we cannot be held liable for damage sustained from normal wear and tear, such as tears, scratches, dirtying, damage or loss of protruding luggage parts such as, handles, pockets, locks and wheels. In addition, we cannot be held liable for damage caused to suitcases which are either overfull or unsuitably packed.
Checked-in baggage is not permitted to contain the following items: fragile objects, bottles, easily damaged and valuable items such as PCs and peripherals, jewellery and precious stones, money, keys, cameras, sensitive documents, briefcases and folders with installed alarms, medicines, medical certificates or proof of identity documentation. Passengers are responsible for ensuring that their luggage is properly packed and does not contain any of the above-mentioned items.
Prams, children car seats, bicycles, golf equipment, ski or fishing poles, any other sport equipment and paintings or delicate items are not articles suitable for air transport. However if need be, Norwegian recommends that these articles are packed in such a way that damage will not occur during transport. Norwegian will cover expenses for damages only if the transported goods have been properly packaged and if damage has happened to the packaging itself. Soft packaging material will not be suitable for any of the above-mentioned items. We strongly recommend our passengers to take out additional travel insurance for any of the above-mentioned items. Passengers are responsible for ensuring that their luggage is properly packed. Norwegian does not have any hard packing equipment to offer its passengers at the airport.
